About the initiative

An identity built for long-horizon research.

Towards Cybersecurity is an independent research initiative founded by Vaibhav Krishna to investigate trustworthy computation across hardware and systems.

Towards Cybersecurity monk brand mark

The vision

Independent by design.

The initiative is being built during its founder’s PhD, but its research identity is intended to persist independently of whichever university he joins now or later.

Towards Cybersecurity is not an official IIT or university laboratory. A university affiliation belongs to the individual researcher and will always be represented separately from this initiative.

Mission

Understand what remains trustworthy when the environment is not.

Investigating how computing systems can remain trustworthy even when the surrounding software, operating system, hypervisor or infrastructure cannot be fully trusted.

Research philosophy

Security claims should be bounded and inspectable.

BOUNDARY / EVIDENCE / ASSURANCEEvery guarantee needs a visible chain of trust.
01

State the threat model

Security begins by naming the adversary, the trusted base and what is outside scope.

02

Connect the layers

Hardware mechanisms matter only through the systems and applications that use them.

03

Build for scrutiny

Research outputs, methods and limitations should be clear enough for others to examine.

04

Stay institutionally clear

Collaboration and affiliation should never blur the initiative’s independent identity.
